2015-09-16 13:37:56 VARY[71]:

2138 E cl_is_cap_resv.c Unknown 109

cl_is_cap_resv: CAP 2,0,6 is already reserved in partition 4 by host 1.

Cause

When ACSLS manages a partitioned SL3000 or SL8500 and a CAP is reserved to one partition,
the VARY process will go into an endless loop during ACSLS start up.  The VARY process will keep on trying to
release the CAP ( which was never reserved in the first place ).   This prevents ACSLS from starting up.

Solution

Before shutting down ACSLS, make sure that there is no Enter or Eject operation going on.
Cancel any enters in progress and finish any ejects in progress before bringing ACSLS down.

If ACSLS shuts down unexpectedly and is unable to restart because of a CAP reservation,
release the CAP reservation using the SL Console:

   Go to Diagnostics

   Open CAP folder

   Select the CAP

   Unreserve the CAP

Note: the Release function is only available for CAPs shared between partitions.

Then, try to start ACSLS services again.

If the problem persists, follow the ACSLS start up procedure in this document -
<Document: 2073780.1> - ACSLS fails to start up - "Method or service exit timed out. Killing contract ..."

This problem is fixed in ACSLS 8.4 Patch 1.
