Fujitsu M10-4S - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The "XSCF self diagnosis warning detection" error can occur on the M10-4S when there are more than 2 building blocks ( BB's ), or when there are XBBox's in a multi node system.
The issue will be seen when the Master XSCF is switched due to a reboot ( flashupdate, xscfreboot ... ect ).

The problem was introduced in XCP2250 and can be experienced in XCP versions 2250 - 2271.

Cause

The syncdate file fails regeneration after it is deleted by switching of the Master XSCF when using XCP2250 or later.

Because XSCF cannot synchronize TOD between Master and Slave chassis, the time differential may be generated between CMU-TOD and XSCF on the Slave chassis when the system is powered on for a long time.

Solution

Workaround:

Re-boot the XSCF on the Slave chassis when the switching of Master XSCF occurred in the above conditions.

  1. Log in to the Master XSCF
  2. Perform "rebootxscf -b bb_id" or "rebootxscf -a"
  3. Verify Correct TOD of the logical domain on Slave chassis.  If necessary correct TOD with the date(1) command or using NTP function.
