Oracle ZFS Storage ZS4-4 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]

Symptoms

 Unable to access / configure REST in ZFS Appliance.

 Customer will see a message like: {"fault": {"message": "unauthorized", "code": 401, "name": "ERR_UNAUTHORIZED"}}

 Auth_Failure

Changes

 No change. This is usually detected when the customer is attempting to initially configure REST.

Cause

 BUI Session annotation.

 Since REST does not have the capability to log session annotations, the login fails, as annotation is required.

Solution

 Deactivate session annotation:

  •  Deactivate the session annotation for the user under: Configuration-> Users
  •  Select the user, and deselect "Require session annotation"
  • Apply

 Annotation_Selection
 Once this is applied, the REST access should function as expected.
