Exalytics In-Memory Machine X2-4 - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Exalytics X2-4, ILOM may report "No appropriate protocol (protocol is disabled or cipher suites are inappropriate" on Java Remote Console.

Changes

After upgrading Exalytics x2-4 ILOM firmware to 3.1.2.24.d from patchset5, I tried to start Remote Console but message "No appropriate protocol (protocol is disabled or cipher suites are inappropriate" was displayed.
I tried from RHEL6 Firefox with JDK 1.7.0 update 76 and also with JDK 1.8.0 update 31 to access the Exalytics ILOM but the message was displayed and the remote console was not displayed.

Cause

Unpublished Bug 20427033, TLS is no working on ILOM 3.1.2.24.d and below.

Solution

Workaround:

Editing $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security/java.security file and comment out line jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms=SSLv3

#jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms=SSLv3

Solution:

Patch 21666801, Exalytics X2-4, ILOM firmware Oracle ILOM: 3.1.2.50_99826 is working with TLS v1.
