Cause

The arcconf utility may report "Controller Status : Inaccessible" under Solaris X86 due to accessing other populated PCIe add-on card (e.g. pn:375-3357 card at PCIe slot 1 and pn:375-3536 at PCIe slot3).

Solution

Workaround:

Mount Linux LiveCD image of your choice over ILOM JavaRconsole and use Linux binary of arcconf utiltily from Sun StorageTek* RAID Manager for Linux* 64-bit.zip.

Downloads:

Downloads for Sun StorageTek* SAS RAID HBA, Internal, SGXPCIESAS-R-INT-Z.

Example:

Mount Ubuntu LiveCD environment over ILOM JavaRconsole and boot the affected Server into LiveCD and enable ssh.

Then copy Linux arcconf binary from Sun StorageTek* RAID Manager for Linux* 64-bit.zip to /tmp on affected server.

Make sure libstdc++5 is available and then run the arcconf commands of your choice, e.g. "/tmp/arcconf getconfig 1" to get disk/volume status information as needed.

Note:

Due ILOM 3.x limitation please make sure you are using Java 1.6. Because older versions of Oracle ILOM Remote Console do not run on Java version 7u40 and later.

For additional information please refer to MOS document:
Older versions of Oracle ILOM Remote Console do not run on Java version 7u40 and later (Doc ID 1613164.1)
