Cause

You may have wrong ILOM serial speed setting. The ODA (Oracle Database Appliance) host nodes are using 9600 as speed baund rate

Solution

1.  Check for the ILOM serial speed

Within ILOM console issue the following command

-> show /SP/serial/host

 /SP/serial/host
    Targets:

    Properties:
        commitpending = (Cannot show property)
        flowcontrol = none
        pendingflowcontrol = none
        pendingspeed = 115200
        speed = 115200

    Commands:
        cd
        set
        show

To connect the ODA host console you need speed=9600

2. Change ILOM serial port speed as following

set /SP/serial/host pendingspeed=9600
set /SP/serial/host commitpending=true

3. Retry the ODA host node connection

-> start /HOST/console
Are you sure you want to start /HOST/console (y/n)? y

Serial console started.  To stop, type ESC (
