Symptoms

Fail to Upgrade Switch From version 1.3.3-2 To 2.1.3_4 due to unsuccessful load operation

Cause

sundcs_36p_repository_2.1.3_4.pkg package is not got transferred properly from compute node to IB switch during the patchmgr run

Logged into IB switch and checked the frimware log, there is an error while checking the signature of some rpms

Solution

1) downgrade the IB Switch to 1.3.3-2

# patchmgr -ibswitches ibswitches.lst -downgrade -ibswitch_precheck
# patchmgr -ibswitches ibswitches.lst -downgrade

2) From ibswitch remove the temporary patch files from /tmp directory

3) Rerun the IB switch upgrade once again

# patchmgr -ibswitches ibswitches.lst -upgrade -ibswitch_precheck
