Symptoms

Acsls taking a long time to come online.

ACSLS was in recovery state for more than 35 minutes , then it switched to online.

Unable to load tapes from LSM 1

Changes

 None

Cause

Acsls misconfiguration
Incorrectly configured caps

LSM 0,1 had failed to come online because CAP 0,1,1 was configured in error.

Solution

LSM 0,1 had failed to come online because CAP 0,1,1 was configured in error.

Looking in the acsss_event.log we see ...

2015-09-08 10:20:25 RECOVERY[0]:
82 N re_verf_cap.c 1  447
re_verf_cap: CAP   0, 1, 1: Configuration failed to verify

A display of the caps from the cmd_proc shows .....

ACSSA> display cap * -f status state desired_state condition priority mode size availability
2015-09-09 09:53:15               Display CAP
Acs  Lsm  Cap  Status            State            Desired_state  Condition       Priority  Mode       Size  Availability

0    1    1    available         offline          online         inoperative     0         manual     39    not_installed   <<<<< 'inoperative, not_installed'

Action Plan:

Run the following command from a shell with acsss user:

config acs 0

As a result, CAP 0,1,1 will disappear from ACSLS config. This can be verified by running the following from a cmd_proc window after the 'config acs 0' command has been completed
.....

ACSSA> q cap all
