  > 2015-07-28T10:57:53+0000 [74] BYTES_TOTAL: 1648640

The signature of this issue appears to be the ndmp_tar_writer() ERROR :

  > 2015-07-28T10:53:15+0000 [74] *** E R R O R *** [ndmp_tar_writer:117]:Writing buffer 0, pos: 0

... and yet the log suggests that some NDMP 'processing' has been done :

   > 2015-07-28T10:57:20+0000 [74] BYTES_TOTAL: 1648640
   > 2015-07-28T10:57:53+0000 [74] BYTES_TOTAL: 1648640

Cause

This is an instance of a 'known' bug.

Bug 20046392 (BackupExec fails on tape backup).

Solution

Upgrade to the Appliance Firmware Release 2013.1.4.2 (or later)
