Multiple drive error reported on ACSLS console

Cause

This tape cartridge "S50730T1 (216)" has failed to load for 216 times on multiple drives. The tape cartridge leader was out of buckling arm, misaligned.

Solution

Action Plan:

Inspect the tape cartridge physically.

Check whether the tape cartridge leader is out of position.

If so, FE needs to repair the tape cartridge by using the tool.

In this case the customer had removed the tape cartridge from the library and the issue got fixed, monitored the drives activity for a week. No further alerts reported on their ACSLS console.
