Symptoms

Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c cloud control in use - ZFS storage appliance added as a target.

OMS version:- 12.1.0.4

Unable to view the Oracle ZFSSA target page metric details in the 12c OEM cloud control getting below errors:

Cause

Configuration instructions NOT followed.

Solution

Items to check towards resolution of this issue:

1. Check the configuration/setup of the client system:

[oracle@askimn bin]$ ./emctl status agent
[oracle@askimn bin]$ ./emctl listplugins agent

From Client CLI (Example)

Command prompt, issue: ask them to login using oracle user account

InstanceUser=oracle_agent
InstancePassword=xxxx

Ctrl-D Enter
Ctrl-D Enter

... this is currently returning - login denied

2. Check for 'Password Mismatch'

Ensure the passwords on the ZFSSA local oracle user and also on the EM side match

3. Ensure port 22 is open

Try to ssh to ZFS appliance with user 'oracle_agent'

4. Install/check Oracle Enterprise Manager plugin

   Important: If you are going to deploy/upgrade to v1.4.x version or above of the plug-in, you must carry out the following additional steps:

       a. Log in to the BUI and go to the Configuration/Users tab.
       b. Click to edit the “Oracle Agent” User name field.
       c. Uncheck “Kiosk user” if it is checked.

In this case, the issue was resolved by following point 4.c

NOTE: For Proactive Support - If you need to engage with Enterprise Manager (EM) Team, please collect the following data:

From the client side, login as user 'oracle'

    $cd agent_home/bin

    $emctl status agent
    $emctl upload agent
    $emctl reload agent
    $emctl listplugins agent
    $emctl config agent listtargets
