Symptoms

After upgrading the Exadata Image to 12.1.2.1.0 and above ,the ASM instance does not discover Gridisks from patched Exadata cell node

kfod command returns no disks from upgraded Exadata cell node

kfod disks=all op=disks

Changes

Upgraded Cell to 12.1.2.1.0 and later

Cause

Due to unpublished <Bug 20116094>, the ASM/kfod does not discover the Griddisks.
This happens only on sparc systems having 11.2.0.3 ASM/DB node communicating to 12.1.2.1.0 and above cell servers.

Solution

The bug has been fixed in 11.2.0.3 BP 26 onwards

Apply 11.2.0.3 BP 26 or one-off patch for Bug.20116094 to have a fix.

(The patch must be applied on both Grid Home and RDBMS Home)
