Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 2047315.1 : FS System: Drive Enclosure Power Supply Remains Critical in GUI After Replacement or Power Outage
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-11169940971> Applies to:Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System - Version 6.1 to 6.2 [Release 6.1 to 6.2]Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsDrive Enclosure Power Supply shows "critical" in GUI, but physical examination yields no problem. Event logs will show the following information. 2015-07-30T14:48:49.515 RAID_EVENT_ENCLOSURE_POWER_SUPPLY_STATUS_CRITICAL CRITICAL ComponentName=/ENCLOSURE-01, Source=/CONTROLLER-02, cruId=CRU_PSU0
2015-07-30T14:48:49.775 RAID_EVENT_ENCLOSURE_POWER_SUPPLY_STATUS_CRITICAL CRITICAL ComponentName=/ENCLOSURE-01, Source=/CONTROLLER-01, cruId=CRU_PSU0
ChangesDrive Enclosure Power Supply was just replaced or power cycled. CauseWhen a Drive Enclosure Power Supply is replaced or powered off/on faster than 15-20 seconds. SolutionMake sure to identify the proper Power Supply. The back of the Drive Enclosure Power Supply has a map like this. Possible Power Supplies will be PSU0, PSU1, PSU2, PSU3, depending on if it is a 2U or 4U Drive Enclosure. The GUI should also indicate which Power Supply is affected. Temporary workaround: Disconnect the power cable or power off via switch on Drive Enclosure Power Supply in question (only if both are physically working and one at a time), wait at least 20 seconds before re-connecting power cord/powering back on. If this does not work or is not an option, the other method is to perform a Pilot failover from FSCLI as user "pillar". The default pillar password is "a1s2d3f$". # fscli.exe login -u pillar -oracleFS <FS ip or name> # fscli.exe pilot -forceFailover
The GUI should now show the Drive Enclosure Power Supply as normal if the Power Supply is physically ok, otherwise there may be a legitimate issue with it. This issue has been resolved in software release 6.2.x and above.
