Symptoms

The screen resolution was changed on Local Operator Panels when the OS is loaded with Oracle Enterprise Linux. The original generation of Local Operator Panels were loaded with Windows and DSL Linux and are not impacted. The splash screen can be observed on boot up.

Cause

Design Change.

Solution

On the latest generation of Local Operator Panels loaded with Oracle Enterprise Linux do not downgrade the code below 6.5x or a problem with the screen resolution will be observed, the SLC window will not fill up the screen.

What products are effected?
-SL3000 and SL8500

Is there a serial number break-in?

-No, only impacts panels loaded with OEL, been shipping for at least a year.

What specifically is a "Splash Screen"?

-During boot up this screen reflects the OS loading.

Was there a PN roll with the Op Panels?

-Not with the addition of the new OS.

-At SLC 6.5x, the OS can also be identified in SLConsole; Tools—Diagnostics—OpPanel—OL2.6.x
