The firmware version of the drives is "258S" and the firmware version of the SL150 is "2.50".

The tape SL150 is attached exclusively to Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery appliance.
The connection are using two dedicated switch with 8GBps as throughput.
The SL150's 2 Partition (DD and ZDLRA)

Symptoms

The SL150 library (new) appears to be degraded after the first mount.
The first four drives are showing degraded with status "Need Cleaning = Yes" after the first usage.

All three clean cartridges appears as "Expired" too. The cleaning cartridges are new and were never used before.

Cause

This is a firmware issue.

Engineering verified that the problem here is the same as Bug 21563799 [https://bug.oraclecorp.com/pls/bug/webbug_edit.edit_info_top?rptno=21563799] [https://bug.oraclecorp.com/pls/bug/webbug_edit.edit_info_top?rptno=21563799] - BUI media property incorrectly shows EXP (expired) for a new cleaning media.

Solution

The fix is in 2.60 code.
