Symptoms

We have recently installed 2 x SL8500 as a complex on code version FRS_8.36.

After assigning them to SDP2 and registering to STA, both libraries have the same engineid.
engineid = 0x80001f880430303030303030303030#

CLI log from each of the 2 SL85000s showing SerNo, base WWN and engineid....

SL8500> prom print
HBK/idcard contents:
Serial number = 516000201465
Wwn base num = 50:01:04:F0:00:BC:7A:9B
COMPLETED

SL8500> snmp engineId print
engineId: 0x80001f880430303030303030303030
COMPLETED

SL8500> exit

Cause

During snmp configuration of the TrapLevels it has been determined that both SL8500s in the same complex have the same engineId

Solution

Deleting the snmp user, restarting snmp and adding snmp user.


SL8500> snmp deleteUser version v2c community public

SL8500> snmp listUsers

SL8500> snmp restart

SL8500> snmp addUser version v2c community public
