Symptoms

Drive_Bay36(1.2.-2.1.4)

1320 - (6X) Drive communication time-out 1,2,-2,1,4 (Errors Started - 2015-07-15 22:55:37 Errors Stopped - 2015-07-28 11:12:42)

3993 - (3X) Device added, device=drive (Errors Started - 2015-07-27 16:01:01 Errors Stopped - 2015-07-28 11:14:13)

3994 - (2X) Device removed, device=drive (Errors Started - 2015-07-27 15:54:33 Errors Stopped - 2015-07-27 16:08:46)

4064 - (2X) Info message: Drive tray Serial Number needs to be updated, device=drive (Errors Started - 2015-07-27 16:02:22 Errors Stopped - 2015-07-27 16:10:56)

Cause

 After the drive has been replaced, the drive tray SN was not updated, therefore sending errors.

Solution

The document assumes you have downloaded and installed SL Console on your computer or that you are using a remote SL Console session installed on a server.  It also assumes that you have network access to the library and admin credentials were set up.


- If you do not have SL Console, please see document ID 1511569.1 for information on how to obtain SLConsole.


- If you do not have network access to the library or if you do not have Admin credentials set up, please open a Service Request to rectify this problem
. 

 

Go into StorageTek Library Console and follow the below path:

 

Tools > Configuration > Choose Tray Serial Number tab -> Select "unknown" -> Enter New Serial Number -> Choose Apply.
