Symptoms

SL8500 - CAP Will Not Initialize This issue is common to both CAPs but is more common on the "B" CAP.

Cause

 Process issue.

Solution

Installing a CAP on the "B" side requires you to reposition the mounting plate and add the rotational stop.  When doing this you may remove the CAP locking motor and leave it in the up (unlocked) position.  Failure to re-install the locking motor in the down (locked) position results in a CAP that will not initialize.  In addition, reinstalling the locking motor without engaging the locking hole in the CAP first can cause a minor misalignment that will result in intermittent CAP failures.  Make sure the CAP is locked before attempting to initialize it.
