Symptoms

SL8500- Having problems locating all tapes with hardware audit.

There are 6 tapes that the library audit fails to locate.

At this time there are 6 tapes that hardware audit has failed to locate. Continues to see cells as empty. Have attempted auditing the cells numerous times with no success.

Cause

It is unclear why the library does not recognize the tapes in these cells.
Earlier in week an FE was out because the library didn't recognize rail 3; now it is just 6 cells.

There are 6 tapes in 6 cells that are not seen by the library. the cells appear empty.

Solution

The FE determined that the robot was not accurately scanning the cells.  The robot was replaced and audit was successful.

RESOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM = REPLACE ROBOT.
