Solution 2031037.1 : SL150 - Fails To Complete Initialization - "Discovering All Library Components"

Symptoms

SL150 will fail to boot and Web GUI will say "Discovering All Library Components" and initialization will never complete.

Library willl not boot in this condition

Log collection is not possible with no indication to confirm the Bridge drive is the cause in the Activity Log.

Cause

The bridge drive has failed and it is needed to completed initialization, please see that all items on the left side are greyed out. Meaning recovery is not possible in this condition as the bridge drive is key to allowing this system to boot.

Solution

2 possible fixes:-

1st : More then one drive is installed.

Please do the following.

Please power off remove the bridge drive and leave out of the library.

Move one of the free drives to the bridge location and boot the library.

The library should boot up at this point allowing you to order a new drive for the customer, log collection will be possible and you can confirm the part number from the other drives or check on the drive its self.

2nd : Only one drive is installed.

Power off and order and send the customer a new drive(check the part number from the drive after removal) Log collection is not possible at this moment.

Replace and power on.
