StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After going through initialization and config of library, library is getting the following robot error messages:
SL150 - Initialization Failure, Robot Z Home Sensor Initialization Error, Fault Code 9135

define LIBMD_ROBOT_Z_HOME_SENSOR_INIT_FAILURE_FAULT_CODE  9135 //_supported_
faultCode=9135
faultString="ROBOT_Z_HOME_SENSOR_INIT_ERROR"
helpString="Check for robot motion/obstructions. Verify robot latch is unlocked. Check base module locate sensor. Inspect/replace base module chassis or robot"
cru1="Chassis"
cru1Priority=1
cru2="Robot"
cru2Priority=2

Visual inspection:

Checked magazine sensors on back of library and they were all seated okay.
Robot is not moving to bottom during init - stays at top.
Robot stayed at the top of the library - turned to the side and along the top and back to the far end - then it sort of shuddered and stopped in the middle and stopped.
Not seeing any obstructions in robotic path.

Changes

 Vertical channel guide must have gotten out of alignment during shipping.

Cause

 Library chassis: further investigation found the vertical robot channel guide preventing robot to lower from home location. See photo.

 SL150 Vertical Channel Guide

Solution

Straighten to clear the obstruction of the vertical channel and verify robot complete initialization.
