Applies to:
Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System - Version All Versions and later
Pillar Axiom Replication Engine (MaxRep) - Version 3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
FS1 UI shows MaxRep Engine unknown with yellow warning status and user is unable to double click and enter MaxRep UI.
The user is still able to enter the MaxRep UI directly via web browser. Other symptoms may be Informational failed login attempts from user "replication" in FS UI event log.

Cause
The most likely cause, assuming things were working fine before, is due to the replication password expiring.
Solution
- Login to FS UI as user administrator.
- Under the "System" tab, click on "Accounts".
- Look for the user "replication". Double click on replication and change the password.
Note: FS1 software version 6.1.9 or higher is required in order to modify the replication user password from the Accounts page. The password can be configured to never expire as well by setting the "Password Duration" to 0 days.
- Click "ok" when done.
- Now enter the MaxRep UI via web browser using user "admin".
- Click on the "settings" tab at the top, then on the left, click on "Manage Oracle Storage".
- Locate the affected FS1 under "Registered Oracle Storage".
- Click on "modify" next to the FS1 in question, then enter the same password in FS UI, click submit.
- If the modify action fails, double check the password being entered. If the modify action still fails, the services on the Engine(s) that the storage is registered to may need to be restarted. This can be performed through the MaxRep UI on the "Shutdown/Restart Services" page by selecting the Engine in question and select "Restart Replication Services". After the services restart, attempt the modify action again.
- After the modify storage completes successfully, it will take about 12 minutes for the FS UI to go green/normal and register in MaxRep UI.
