Symptoms

Is it possible for the audit function on the NAS to audit client users such as Windows users, Linux or other 'end user' clients ?

Cause

 None

Solution

The ZFS Storage Appliance administrator is able to check the audit files for users that are local to the NAS, like root, but not the 'client side' - that is, from a Linux NFS client or Windows SMB client.
