Symptoms

SL3000 / SL8500, No longer displaying VOLID on drive status page in SLConsole.

Changes

Library firmware upgraded to SL3000 - 4.31 and SL8500 - 8.35.

Cause

Library code bug.

Solution

Engineering note:

Fix is scheduled for the next SL8500 release at 8.50 tentatively scheduled for 9/2015 and the following release for the SL3000. The SL3000 code release schedule is still pending but highly likely to be CYQ1_2016."

Workaround:

To display VOLID when drive is loaded. In SLConsole > Reports > Cartridge Table > sort Location Type column to group drive for easy viewing. Please refer to attachment.
