Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 2014884.1 : FS System: Email Flood Prevention Setting May Cause Some Event Notifications Not To Be Sent
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-10515342531> Applies to:Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System - Version 6.1 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsFor FS Systems running versions 6.1.x , in some instances the event notification to recipient email address is not sent.
CauseIn the current design of alert management, the FS System is configured by default to wait 5 minutes to send the next alert. If a high severity alert occurs within 5 minutes of a previous alert notification, then the user may not be notified. For example:
Email Flood Prevention identifies the time interval in which the system is permitted to send subsequent emails when an event occurs on the Oracle FS System. The smaller the number, the more frequently the system sends event notification emails. The default time is 300 seconds (5 minutes).
SolutionThe fix is now available with Version 6.2.0 and above. For Systems running 6.1.x , follow the work around below to change the Email Flood Prevention interval in the GUI. 1. Navigate to System tab > Global Settings > Networking. Setting lower values for the Email Flood Prevention interval will make the FS1-2 System send emails for all the event notifications configured. This would result in users getting multiple emails from the FS1-2 system.
