 ASR ticket reporting FSC 32DF and FSC 32B6 

Cause

FSC 32DF - T10000 drive compressors stalled resulting.

FSC 32B6 - We have seen this problem on numerous occasions from recently transitioned SDP2 sites. If this is an alert from SDP2 please verify that the drive took a perm error.

Solution

No action required if no perm were reported. See detail descriptions below:

T10000A/B - FSC 32DF - This shows up in event logs as a temp error quite often. The retry should work every time. If you can confirm a perm error in the drive event log then the drive should be replaced

T10000A/B - FSC 32B6 - We have seen this problem on numerous occasions from recently transitioned SDP2 sites. If this is an alert from SDP2 please verify that the drive took a perm error. If it did no, close the SR as SDP2 is sending back alerts for temp (retry) errors. The SDP2 team is working to better qualify that is saw a perm error before opening an alert. If this is a real perm error - the drive is trying to read data from the tape but is making no progress. Support will need a dump in order to troubleshoot this problem. Ensure that the problem is for a perm error. If it is not a perm error then there is no need to troubleshoot any further. If this is a perm error try to get a dump from the drive before the next tape is mounted. If this is not possible then have the customer read down the tape until it fails again and have them unload the tape and force a dump.
