Information in this document applies to any platform.

This only effects T10000C drives.

Symptoms

Unable to SSH Into a T10000C drive running 3.62.1xx code using Putty.

Cause

Microcode problem in all T10000C 3.62.1xx base code including 3.62.111.

Ref bug 20412254

The drive is sending an empty list of authentication methods to the client instead of sending the string "password".  PuTTY disconnects.  VOP and ssh in Solaris don't disconnect and manage to complete the login.

Solution

A problem was introduced in 3.62.1xx and derivative special builds for T10000C drives. (up to and including RC362.109 and 3.62.111 code) This problem causes Putty to fail to establish an SSH connection. A fix has been created and put into the soup. This change will be included in the next release code for T10000C after 3.62.111.

Possible Workarounds:

Load VirtualBox and a Linux guest OS to be used for SSH connections to the T10000C drive.

Enable Telnet and FTP capability at the drive and use that to connect to the drive. You must obtain customer permission before doing this.

Note: This problem does not affect VOP/SDP2 connections to the drive nor does it affect Unix SSH connections to the drive.
