Symptoms

During the POST, the server displays the error "Peripherial Power Supply PPSS_0 Failed" or "Overtemp detected on board X".

Cause

This errors can be related to

defective Power Cooling Module (PCM) which is responsible for cooling the board reporting overtemp
Peripherial Power Supply itself failed
- in this case you may see the CDROM not opening as a further behavior

Solution

Replace the Power supply faulted:

Peripherial Power Supply with the part number 300-1301

Power Cooling Module with part number 300-1444
