Symptoms

The Eagle discovery is failing for a Eagle in SSH mode.

Changes

 If the Eagle is changed to operate in Secure mode, the access will be performed via SSH.  Please use the instructions in the Solution section to prepare the system to connect to the STP in SSH mode.

Cause

The system is not using the correct local user for the SSH tunnel
Without the proper user configured, the ssh connection will fail.

Solution

 Run the E5-MS configuration program under /Tekelec/WebNMS/bin.

[root@E5-MS bin]# ./E5MSConfigurationScript.sh
Please enter E5-MS home path (Absolute path till 'WebNMS' directory):
/Tekelec/WebNMS
Press 1 To update current system username and password in E5-MS
      2 To update current mysql root user's password in E5-MS
      3 To Exit
Your Choice (1, 2 or 3): 1
Enter Username (e.g. root): e5msuser
Enter Password: e5msuserUnixPassword
Do you want to proceed with the entered username and password?(y/n): y
Username and Password updated successfully in E5-MS.

 

If the Unix user being utilized for the ssh tunnel is not an admin user (root), make the following change to the /Tekelec/WebNMS/conf/tekelec/server_conf.properties file.

Change the line: LinuxMachinePrompt=\#

To: LinuxMachinePrompt=\$

 

After completing the changes, the E5-MS services need to be restarted.

 To restart the services, execute the following command as user root: service e5msService restart
