Errant volumes while running an audit in the background.
> SLS0235I Audited volume M57019 is errant (lost)
> SLS0235I Audited volume M53504 is errant (lost)
> SLS0235I Audited volume M53737 is errant (lost)
> SLS0235I Audited volume MA0519 is errant (lost)
After some attempts the library finally can find the medias.

Is a direct result of the prior ERR 04/23 CELL IS EMPTY errors. When the library reports that a particular volume is not found in the cell location reported by the CDS, HSC marks that volume as errant (lost). When the second Audit "finds" the volume in the correct cell (or in a different location), the errant status is removed, and the CDS is updated with the new location (or in this case, the same location).

Symptoms

When hardware audit is triggered on library, messages appear on the console regarding unable to locate tape.

ERR 04/23 CELL IS EMPTY errors.

> SLS0235I Audited volume XXXXXX is errant (lost)

After some attempts the library finally can finds the medias.

Error: SLS0235I

Changes

New firmware will include the bug correction. Current firmware:  8.36

Cause

Errant volumes reported to the HSC while running an audit in the library in the background.

Bug in the firmware. Library engineering was able to duplicate the issue in the lab and confirmed it is a library code bug.

Solution

In the interim the work around is to wait for the library physical audit to complete before the library is brought back online and in production. This only effects libraries that are downstream from the library attached to HSC for library control.

The fix will be queued up for a future release of code but no ETA is currently available.
