Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 2000589.1 : SL3000/SL8500 - Event ID_1107 Preceded by Event ID_3955 With RC_6441
In this Document
Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System - Version All Versions and laterSun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version All Versions and later Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsIf event 1107 is preceded by 3955 with result code_6441, it is likely the library control software or the Host application did not successfully send the expected rewind unload command to the drive. The library will fail the dismount request if the tape is found in a loaded state. Example: Note: No media error or unitcheck is reported in the 3955 event. 2015-03-18T05:13:15.921 error 1.3.2.1.4 3955 "Error from device Code: 601 - Drive is loaded", Data=<response sequence="10110744" final="true"><command>rewindUnload</command><result identifier="1"><resultStatus><resultSeverity>error</resultSeverity><resultCode>6441</resultCode><resultText><!|CDATA|drive 1,3,2,1,4: rewindUnload FAILED - drive is loaded (cartLabel = , driveType = IbmUltrium4, driveFirmware = C7QH)||></resultText><operationalState>601</operationalState></resultStatus><needsCleaning>false</needsCleaning><recordingFormat>0</recordingFormat><encryptionStatus>0</encryptionStatus><volSafeIndicator>0</volSafeIndicator><driveError>0</driveError><mediaError>0</mediaError><mirOutOfSync>0</mirOutOfSync><cartMaintenanceRequired>0</cartMaintenanceRequired><faultSymptomCode></faultSymptomCode><driveLifePercent>0</driveLifePercent><cartridgeWarrantyPercent>0</cartridgeWarrantyPercent><cartridgeLifePercent>0</cartridgeLifePercent><driveLoadLimit>0</driveLoadLimit> , drive Rc:6441 move root hli0 11879610 2015-03-18T05:13:16.019 error 1.3.2.1.4 1107 "Drive not unloaded for fetch - on rewindUnload", hliLsm=2 move root hli0 11879610 CauseHost application issue. SolutionCheck the current status of the drive via SLConsole to determine if the drive is still loaded, if necessary recover the tape by verifying the Host application is no longer actively using the tape on the drive and issue an unload command via the Host application. If the initial dismount request fails try running the dismount command with the force-unload option via the library control software. If the unload/dismount continue to fail further investigation is recommended by Oracle support. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
