Symptoms

36BA perm write errors are typically caused by tapes with wound in slitter debris.

Cause

T10000C/D - This issue is most likely media related. There was a problem where slitter debris was getting into the tape pack at the tape vender which can cause this problem. Any failed 36BA tape will be replaced by the media vender as they are found.

Solution

Have the customer copy their data off any tapes having this issue and have them follow the process to get a replacement tape. The media vender is well aware of the problem.
