Applies to:

Oracle Communications Performance Intelligence Center (PIC) Software - Version 9.0.4 and later
Tekelec

Symptoms

PIC Alarm Forwarding send e-mails for rules in SMTP. But they are time stamped wrongly, showing GMT -9 in the alarm text. Despite the fact that the User set preferences by setting correctly its Time Zone.

Cause

The Time Zone is not fully customized in PIC system. Thus, the time stamping will be wrong. The xDRs time stamping is based on the "User Preferences" settings, but "Alarm forwarding" uses the default settings coming from an administrator account.

Solution

The time stamping of forwarded alarms is based on Time Zone settings from an NSP Administrator account.

To get the right time stamp in forwarded alarms, connect on NSP GUI with an administrator account, go in menu "User preferences". In "Time" tab, select the accurate Time Zone value from list of values, and then use the button "Save as default".

This will set this time zone for all elements such as forwarded alarms.

For recall, this is part of the Document Customer Integration Release 9.0 909-2241-01, RevisionE.

In section 5.11.11 Configure the default settings for the new users (Optional).

This procedure describes how configure the default settings for the new users. This procedure is optional:

  1. Login on the NSP as user Tekelec
  2. Modify the user preferences according the customer requirement and especially the Time Zone.
  3. Validate the settings using the button “Save as default” for each panel you modified.
