Symptoms

Write Perm errors.

Permanent write errors.

Cause

 Write Perm errors.

Solution

For any of the Write Perm errors perform the following test:
1. Upload an event log into the SR. Process to collect the tape drive event log

2. Look at the results to see if a drive is called out as defective or if the tape is as fault.

3. If the drive is defective a replacement drive needs to be dispatched.

4. If the tape is defective this tape should be replaced. Media replacement process
