Symptoms

When reversing replication, some projects fail with the following error :

error: An unanticipated system error occurred: validation failure on replication of project xxxxxxx

Cause

Looking at the alerts section of the supportbundle, it can be seen that all the projects below reversed successfully:

However, the replication of test 3 did not reverse at all and errored with "error: An unanticipated system error occurred: validation failure on replication of project "

com.sun.ak:default_user testadmin
com.sun.ak:default_permissions 775

test 6 also received the error:

com.sun.ak:default_group install
com.sun.ak:default_user testadmin
com.sun.ak:default_permissions 775

We can see that the permissions section appears to be different (700 -> 755).

This was traced to the observation that the source system has the Active Directory service enabled and the target system does not.

Thus we see that groups, user name and perms are not as expected on the target.

Solution

Enable the Active Directory service on the target system and allow the target system to join the AD Domain.
