Alarms not being displayed on EventViewer

Symptoms

EMS system is not working

Cause

Alarms are not being received on EMS

Solution

Parse processes not running on server.

  1. Check using command 'vp parse' there should be a parse process for each EMSALM terminal connected to the EMS server.
  2. Restart Netboss system to restart Parse processes.
  3. Command from user 'root
    /etc/init.d/netboss stop
     
  4. Wait for approx. 3 minutes to confirm all processes have stopped
  5. Restart netboss processes
    /etc/init.d/netboss start
