Symptoms

To discuss this information further with Oracle experts and industry peers, we encourage you to review, join or start a discussion in the My Oracle Support Community - Disk Storage ZFS Storage Appliance

This event will occur when a disk's temperature exceeded the limits established by the manufacturer.

Changes

None

Cause

These can be caused by a problem with the fan, an environmental issue or a disk is failing.

Solution

The administrator should identify the source of the overheating.

  1. Verify that the fans are fully functional.  In the BUI (maintenance-> hardware-> show details-> Fan ,  Verify all fans are green and reporting.)  You can also do a physical inspection of the disk tray LEDs.  If there is a faulty fan, please verify there is not another service request opened for the fan replacement.
  2. Check for obstructed airflow on the fans.
  3. Check for environmental issues such as loss of AC in the datacenter.
  4. Check for a faulted disk.

If you need assistance, please update your service request (SR) and it will be routed to the next available engineer.  If no assistance is needed and no updates made to your SR, your SR will remain open for 14 days and then will auto-close.
