'zpool status' hangs and takes several minutes to return report on all healthy disks.

 

Changes

Possible misconfiguration since installation.

Possible changes to SAS cable configuration including removal of JBODs, leaving too many HBA and SAS connections attached to single remaining SATA JBOD.

 

Cause

Single node has 4 SAS cable connections to single SATA JBOD.

This breaks the SATA affiliation as the JBOD is connected like a cluster - but to only one node.

 

Solution

1) Shutdown array head
2) Remove extra SAS connections to JBOD - Configure so that each HBA has only one connection to a SIM
3) Retest for fault.
