Symptoms

Updating ODA from 2.9.0.0.0 to 12.1.2.1.0.
Infra has been successfully patched as described in MOS <note 19690105>.
After successful reboot of both nodes, the following command has been run (from node 1) 'oakcli update -patch 12.1.2.1.0 --gi'

It seems to complete successfully, except for setting up SSH for grid (to node 1). - Patching on node 0 appears to have completed successfully.
It seems it is a wrong password for grid user on node 1.

Changes

upgrade of GI on any 12.1.2.1 or higher version of the ODA

Cause

When the first time GI upgrade (oakcli update -patch 12.1.2.1.0 --gi" fails, without cleanup the second time or later the GI upgrade will not continue under such situation.

Solution

Run:

oakcli update -patch 12.1.2.1.0 --clean

and re-run:

oakcli update -patch 12.1.2.0.0 --gi
