Oracle Confidential PARTNER - Available to partners (SUN).
Reason: Confidential for Service Personnel

Applies to:

Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

PEM = Parking Expansion Module
AEM = Access Expansion Module

Symptoms

IHAC where the partner has two sets of targets for an AEM -- the usual ones, i.e., AEM / back bulk load / front bulk load / no window. However, they don't have an AEM, but a standard PEM -- PEM / back arrays / front unsure (whether there's a CAP or no CAP) / no window.
They need four sets of these targets. Can they order them? I see these labels in the SL3000 parts list on SSH:
n/a    419836203  [F]     Label, Configuration, BDM01    n/a
n/a    419844503  [F]     Label, Configuration, Dem01    n/a
n/a    419844602  [F]     Label, Configuration, CEM    n/a
n/a    419844702  [F]     Label, Configuration, Drive Upgrade    n/a
n/a    419844802  [F]     Label, Configuration, OPWIN    n/a
n/a    419844902  [F]     Label, Configuration, CAP01    n/a
n/a    419855602 [F]     Label, Configuration, FWARY    n/a
n/a    419857202    Label, Configuration, BWRRY    n/a
n/a    419929901  [F]     Label, Configuration, PEM01

Are these sets of labels, or single labels? Are they consumable? Do I understand correctly that they'd need the ones in bold (either CAP01 or FWARY for the third row)? What about BWRRY (or BWARY)? It's not market as a FRU, so would a NOPRT process be needed here?

Cause

 Missing labels.

Solution

There are part numbers for sets of 4 labels for the standard modules: Base, DEM, CEM and AEM. However, they are not FRUs and there's no set for PEMs.

You need to order each label item separately and the quantity you need. For a PEM you need the following labels(parts):

419929901 [F] Label, Configuration, PEM01
419857202 Label, Configuration, BWRRY
419855602 [F] Label, Configuration, FWARY or in case you have a CAP on the left side PEM, you choose this: 419844902 [F] Label, Configuration, CAP01
419855702 LABEL,CONFIGURATION,OPARY

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The CEM set is the one listed in SSH, even it's not clearly indicating that.

419844602 [F] Label, Configuration, CEM

The label sets don't assume you have any options, so in case you don't have CAPs in the PEMs, you can use the sets, and then order the PEM single label. So you would order:

419844602 [F] Label, Configuration, CEM (the set)
419929901 [F] Label, Configuration, PEM01 (single label)
