Symptoms

ASM signalling  ORA 7445  [__intel_new_memset()+2674]  when exadata database bundle is   at 11.2.0.4.7

with call stack  similar to :  ... intel_new_memset  intel_fast_memset  kxdrs_get_next_stale_ext  kfdxWork

mainly involving kfdxwork function

Cause

Bug.19464000/18205490 (77) ASM RESILVERING PROCESSES CRASHING WITH ORA-7445 [KFDXWORK()+5283] Gen RDBMS-11204
 
This bug is a result  due to fix for bug 18205490 increased the size of kxdrs_extent. While backporting to 11.2.0.4.7 Exa bundle a file was missed.
 

Solution



This issue could be fixed by

either upgrade to a higher exadata bundle that 11.2.0.4.8 or greater

or

download and apply one-off patch 19513710.
