Symptoms

Exadata Database node was rebooted for maintenance and below logs keep on coming when checked ILOM Console and serer was in booting loop.

/opt/MegaRAID/MegaCli/MegaClii64-LDSetProp -DisDskCache -Lall -a0 -nolog

Cause

MegaCli64 script size is 0.

Service Precell is used to execute /opt/MegaRAID/MegaCli/MegaCli64 to perform pre-boot checks.

[root@xor1db01 ~]# chkconfig --list |grep -i "precell"
precell 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off

Solution

Reboot (Power Cycle) the Database node.
From Serial console, pressed keyboard I once informed "Welcome to ... press I to enter interactive startup"
Disabled precell on this boot (This is one time setting).
Verified server came up without any issue.
Copy /opt/MegaRAID/MegaCli/MegaCli64 from working Database node to overwrite counterpart on this problematic Database node.
Rebooted the Database node.
