Created from <SR 3-9999197071>

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Subscriber Data Management (SDM) - Version SDM 9.0.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

There is an "HSS congestion Level 1" alarm coming up every time an automatic backup is done, even when it is done during low traffic periods.

Changes

Request log has been activated, it is dumping data to file every 6 hours and a lot of transactions were initiated by provisioning in one maintenance window.

Cause

Since there were a lot of transactions generated by provisioning and the dumping time was set to 6 hours, table RquestLog stored a huge amount of data so when backup was done, DB was to busy that HSS request were taking long time to be processed and it consumes the HSS buffer leading to congestion.

Solution

Delete all data in table RequestLog.
