Oracle Hierarchical Storage Manager (HSM) and StorageTek QFS Software - Version 5.0 and later
Oracle Library LTFS (Linear Tape File System) - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

T10kC drive dumps showing 2B5C SNO Errors.  The interface processor in the drive is taking a fatal error. See SR 3-9991972331 for details.

Cause

A tape drive interface code problem was found in the 3.62.108 microcode version.

Solution

Oracle Tape Engineering was able to reproduce this problem in the lab. Any code version that is 3.62.11 or higher will have the code change in it that addresses the problem. Current microcode for T10000C drives is now 3.62.112 version

SAM-QFS and LTFS customers with T10000C drives on Emulex HBA's will need to refrain from running the drives on tape drive code 3.62.108 version and instead run on the most current code version.

Please go to this link for instructions on how to download the microcode.
