Solution

To implement the solution, please execute the following steps on a low traffic period (maintenance window), starting on one STP and then work on the mate STP:

1. Identify the active Maintenance and Administration Subsystem Processor (MASP) and standby MASP by running rept-stat-meas command:

  > rept-stat-meas

  stp_clli yy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss TS EAGLE5 44.0.2-64.34.16
  rept-stat-meas
  Command entered at terminal #20.
;

  Command Accepted - Processing
  stp_clli yy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss TS EAGLE5 44.0.2-64.34.16
  PST SST AST
  MEAS SS IS-NR Active -----
  ALARM STATUS = No Alarms

CARD VERSION TYPE PST SST AST
  1113 P 134-034-016 E5MCAP IS-NR Active -----
  IP Link A IS-NR Active -----
  1115 134-034-016 E5MCAP IS-NR Standby -----
  IP Link A IS-NR Active -----

CARD 1113 ALARM STATUS = No Alarms
CARD 1115 ALARM STATUS = No Alarms

  Command Completed.

2.Initialize standby E5-MASP card by running this command:

init-card:loc=<Standby E5-MASP card location>

3.Initialize active E5-MASP card by running this command, take into account that this action will cause a MASP switchover:

init-card:loc=<Active E5-MASP card location>

4. Proceed with mate STP.
