Symptoms

Configured Tape Libraries Not Creating Automatic Service Requests (ASR).

Changes

Editing the domain.vop file from the client application Version 2.2.

Cause

Missing setup for each library or failing to restart services after change has been made.

Solution

In the VOP Client GUI - Edit Domain configuration screen:

Highlight a library in question and click SNMP-> SNMP Configuration

This will open a new window to allow us to configure the SNMP details for that specific library.

Re-enable the SNMP configuration for that library:

Enter the IP address of the SDP2 server
Check Enable SNMP for this library
Click OK

Repeat this same process for EACH Library configured in SDP2.

Make sure you save the file on top of the customers original (domain)sitename.vop and then exit the GUI.

From cli user sdp2admin restart mdvop (/home/sdp2admin/sdp2Server/bin/server.sh restart) to enable this.

Libraries should now create ASR's as intended.
