Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1946441.1 : CD-ROM Image Redirection in ILOM does not work with 64-bit Java
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-9868739681> Applies to:SPARC T3-1 - Version All Versions and laterSPARC T4-1 - Version All Versions and later Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsWhen you attempt to redirect the CD-ROM via the Remote Console, a message window titled "Cannot redirect CD-ROM image" appears with the error message "CD-ROM image redirection is not supported on your client OS." ChangesIt is a known limitation which is described in the requirements section on page 12 in ILOM "Remote Redirection Consoles — CLI and Web Guide" CauseThis error occurs when the required Java Development Kit (JDK) for the Remote Console is either not installed, or a 64-bit Java is being used on the client OS, and an attempt to redirect the CD-ROM is performed. A 32-bit JDK is required for CD-ROM redirection. NOTE: The remote console works with both 32-bit and 64-bit JDK. SolutionFor storage redirection please use 32-bit Java
Below is an example of selecting 32-bit Java on a Windows 7 machine: To select the 32-bit Java version: 1) The jnlp file will be downloaded, upon invoking remote redirection of ILOM.
