Symptoms

The Server's Service Processor (SP) is not accessible over the network management port, neither via
ssh (Command Line Interface) nor via (HTTP / Browser Interface).
The SP can still be accessed via the serial management port, though.

Cause

The SP requires auto negotiation to be enabled on the link partner (switch/router) port to which the SP network management port is connected to.

General recommendation:
Recommended Sun Systems Ethernet Port Configuration (Auto-Negotiation or Manual Configuration) (Doc ID 1006000.1)

Solution

1. Enable auto negotiation on the link partner (switch/router) port to which the SP network management port is connected to.
2. Log in to the SP via its serial management port and reset it by executing:
    -> reset /SP

Reseting the SP, when connected serially to it, may be used as a temporary workaround until auto negotiation gets enabled
on the link partner port. But the SP network connectivity will eventually get lost again.

Further information about the SP's serial management port can be found in the System Handbook and
there, in the Server related documentation. Example for a T5-2 Server:

SPARC T5-2 Server HTML Collection -> Connect a Terminal or Emulator to the SER MGT Port

SPARC T5-2 Server HTML Collection -> Reset the SP

If the steps recommended above should not resolve your problem, please power cycle the server:
Performing an AC power cycle on the T3/T4/T5 Servers (Doc ID 1571054.1)

If the problem persists, please open a Service Request at Oracle.
