Symptoms

Error "failed to list active problems" returned when viewing 'maintenance problems' in the CLI :

    xlm01sn02:> maintenance problems show
    error: failed to list active problems
    xlm01sn02:>

 

Checked the issue on shared shell:

    xlm01sn02:maintenance> problems
    error: failed to list active problems
    xlm01sn02:maintenance>

 

Restarted the FMA daemon (fmd) ... no change ...

    xlm01sn02:> maintenance
    xlm01sn02:maintenance> problems
    error: failed to list active problems
    xlm01sn02:maintenance>

 

 

Cause

Known issue  .... CR 17024920 (akd can't cope with faults with zero suspects)

In this particular case, it seems that the files in /var/fm/fmd/rsrc have been deleted, but not the files in /var/fm/fmd/ckpt/*

 

Solution

Recommended action for the customer:

You will need to engage Oracle Support, by opening a Service Request, so that Oracle Support Services can provide confirmation of this issue and then carry out the appropriate activities to resolve the issue.


Recommended actions for the Oracle Support engineer:

  Remove the FMA files in /var/fm/fmd/ckpt/ - see the following wiki document:
