Symptoms

When executing asrexachk, the following error is displayed when running for the new cell node:

xxxxcel04: Unable to determine Device Type, System Identifier states:
xxxxcel04: system_identifier = (none)
xxxxcel04: If system is returning a null value or (None)
xxxxcel04: Please open a Service Request with the Exadata Hardware Team
xxxxcel04: To help set your system Identifier.

Cause

 system_identifier was not set correctly. 

Solution

Manually set the system_identifier per the following note:
